The colorful lepidopteran wings of the order Lepidoptera, the metallic sheen of the elytra of Coleoptera, the majestic and imposing posture of mantises, and the bizarre pronotum of treehoppers... Rows of neatly arranged insect specimen boxes are dazzling and awe-inspiring. Recently, the Hubei Provincial Association for Science and Technology announced the list of Hubei Provincial Science Education Bases (2024-2028). The Wuling Mountain (Hubei) Wildlife and Plant Specimen Museum was awarded the title of "Hubei Provincial Science Education Base," and has been featured in reports by CCTV's "News Broadcast," "News Live," "The Faraway Home," and other programs, as well as attracting attention from tourists across the country.

The Wuling Mountain (Hubei) Wildlife and Plant Specimen Museum has a total construction area of 9,171.64 square meters. It features exhibition areas for plants, mammals, insects, type specimens, vegetation ecosystems, fungi and mosses, and interactive experiences. With over 50,000 specimens in its collection, the museum primarily displays physical specimens, supplemented by multimedia presentations, immersive experiences, and interactive exchanges. It showcases the rare wildlife and plant resources and biodiversity of the Wuling Mountain area from multiple dimensions, and has become a microcosm of biodiversity in the Wuling Mountain area, a showcase of Yichang's excellent ecology, a node for all-for-one tourism, a classroom for nature education, and a window for external exchanges for the nature reserve. This year, Guanyu Technology's self-guided tour service station terminal has been installed at the Wuling Mountain (Hubei) Wildlife and Plant Specimen Museum, providing a more personalized communication medium for Hubei's science education base.

The Guanbiao Technology Self-guided Tour Service Station Terminal is a system independently operated by the museum, providing visitors with a full-process self-service tour experience. Visitors can scan a QR code to rent a self-guided audio device and freely explore the Wuling Mountain (Hubei) Wildlife and Plant Specimen Museum. As visitors move through different areas, the device automatically plays explanations of the exhibits/artifacts in that area, supporting multiple languages and text formats.

The self-guided audio tour device facilitates individual visitors in touring the specimen hall. It not only enriches the official exhibition and display methods, alleviating management pressure, but also contributes to science popularization, conveying professional and difficult-to-understand knowledge about wildlife through engaging explanations to visitors. What visitors see before their eyes is merely the specimen forms of wildlife, but how they were born, how they evolved, and what changes they underwent before finally being presented to everyone require detailed audio explanations to allow visitors to gain a deeper understanding.

The Wuling Mountain (Hubei) Wildlife and Plant Specimen Museum receives over 40,000 visitors annually for various purposes, including many primary and secondary school students who come to learn. These specimens of animals and plants not only showcase the vitality of life but also demonstrate the biodiversity of the Houhe Nature Reserve. Through the self-service guide station terminals with technology, children can independently learn about wildlife and plant knowledge and experience the charm of natural ecology.
