In order to earnestly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and in accordance with the important deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on improving the mechanism for collaborative education involving schools, families, and society, recently, the Ministry of Education, the Central Propaganda Department, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Central Civilization Office, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Cultural Heritage Administration, the Office of the Working Committee on Women and Children under the State Council, the All-China Women's Federation, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the China National Committee on Aging, and the China Association for Science and Technology jointly issued the "Opinions on Improving the Mechanism for Collaborative Education Involving Schools, Families, and Society."

       The "Opinions" put forward four working principles: "adhere to education-oriented, adhere to government coordination, adhere to collaborative co-education, and adhere to problem orientation," and clarify the respective responsibilities and mutual coordination mechanisms of schools, families, and society in collaborative education.
       First, schools should fully play a leading role in collaborative education: schools should comprehensively grasp and promptly communicate to parents the students' ideological and emotional state, academic status, behavioral performance, and physical and mental development during school; strengthen family education guidance, take providing good family education guidance services as an important responsibility, and organize at least 2 family education guidance activities each semester; make good use of social education resources, establish a relatively stable social practice education base and resource catalog list, and jointly develop social practice courses.
       Second, parents should earnestly fulfill their primary responsibility in family education: parents should strengthen their awareness that the family is the first classroom and parents are the first teachers, attach importance to family building, and create a good family environment for the healthy growth of their children; they should actively participate in family education guidance and home-school interaction activities organized by schools, and fully understand the normal education and teaching work of schools; they should use leisure time to lead or support their children in experiencing society, helping them better get close to nature, broaden their horizons, increase their knowledge, and improve their quality.
